The best part of this tour is the down-home hospitality Sam tries to deliver with every ride. There is no real set schedule, so we have a bit more flexibility in how we do things. Sam will help you from the time you first write to the time she hugs you goodbye at the last stop and beyond if you're traveling to anywhere else that she is familiar with. Get to know other travelers and share once in a lifetime experiences along the way.

The trip was cancelled without notice although I had received confirmation email and reminder email. I had only become aware when the guide didn't show up. Although I was refunded but I could not find alternatives on such short notice

We usually love Viator tours - the descriptions are usually on target, the communication effective, and the price reasonable. These seemed to be the same UNTIL... Our driver showed up with a Kia mini van, which when we thought was only 4 of us, seemed not ideal but I figured we could live with it. Then he told us two more people were coming - that 3 of us (all grown adults 16o+ pounds each and 60-80 years old) would have to squeeze into the third row seat. In a Kia mini van, that seat can handle 2 adults or 3 small teens - I should have cancelled right then! I new the tour was all day, but I didn't realize that it was nearly all driving - if I knew then what I know now, I absolutely would have cancelled. He promised he would make the other couple sit in back too, that we'd rotate, but they didn't want to so we never did. He could hear our yelps and groans of pain when he would drive too fast over a bump or pothole when the rear shocks bottomed out, and he could see my husband and mother in terrible pain having to crawl on knees to get out of the back of that vehicle. It was awful. And then to top it off, we couldn't even hear him talk about the area while we were driving - just the road noise. He had no amplification for his voice and he seemed to be a bit hoarse (maybe sick, since we all came down with colds after that day) - we said "what" and "can't hear you" several times, but eventually gave up because he only seemed to want to talk to the guy in the front seat with him and ignore the rest of us. We are usually very generous tippers for the tour guides and we NEVER stiff anyone for any tour, even it if was bad. This, however, proved to be the exception - first time in 30+ years of travel, we left zero tip because he didn't earn it in any way. I communicated my complaint to both the local tour operator and Viator, but no response so far - so I'm leaving this review and will be contacting my credit card company to reverse the charge. We'll see what happens...

????I had an amazing one-day tour with this tour group in Halifax!
The whole experience was top-notch. First of all, the transportation was great. We were picked up from the hotel entrance in a comfortable air-conditioned 7-seater van, which was really convenient. And it dropped us back right at the hotel entrance around 6 pm after departing at 8:45 am.
The itinerary was well-planned. We visited several wonderful places. Peggy's Cove Lighthouse was absolutely stunning, with its picturesque view by the sea. The whole Peggy's Cove area was charming. Standing there, you could feel the tranquility and beauty of the ocean. Queensland Beach was a lovely stop too, though the stay was only 10 minutes, it was enough to enjoy a quick dip of the seaside charm. Mahone Bay Visitors Information Centre gave us a chance to get some useful information about the area. The short 5-minute stop was still valuable. Lunenburg Historic District was a highlight. Spending an hour and a half there, we could really soak up the historical atmosphere of the old downtown. And Wolfville Waterfront Park was a great place to end the day, with its peaceful and scenic setting.
Overall, I highly recommend this one-day tour to anyone visiting Halifax. It's a great way to see the best of the area in a short time! ????
