The favorite part of the cruise was definitely Day 2 on the Day Boat with 20+ other 2-night passengers from five different cruise ships. The boat + bike ride to Viet Hai Village was special, the lunch on the Day Boat was tasty, docking the fish farm and kayaking the quiet Lan Ha Bay were a lot of fun.

The cruise was very well organised and from what we saw the boat was newer than a lot of the others. Our first cabin smelt unpleasant but we were moved so all was ok. The best day was day 2 and we are so glad we went for the 3 day 2 night tour as we saw and learnt so much on day 2. The guide on day 2, Thang, was super good, knowledgeable and made the whole day excellent. It would have been an expensive trip for just 1 night, especially after the long transfer from Ha Noi. The food was good although we would have prefered buffet style in the evening. It was odd that you had to pay for tea/coffee at breakfast. Making spring rolls was excellent as was the tea ceremony and the early morning tai chi. The transfer from Hanoi was good with a stop at a pearl farm which interesting and no pressure to buy. It was not the same on the way back which took longer and had a 20 min break only 40 mins from Ha Noi, with a chance to buy souvenirs which we didnt want as we just wanted to get back and explore Ha Noi. Total time to get back from yhe harbour was over 4 hours, it was only 3 hours going out.

Everything was incredible! Every single staff member made us feel like the most valued guest on the boat. Ha, the manager was extremely attentive to every need and ran a tight ship. There wasn’t even the tiniest hiccup. The crew all seemed to get along great and were extremely personable. The room was exquisite. The food was top notch. Every transfer, whether by boat or bus was efficient and timely. All the activities were well thought out and coordinated. Every guide gave a ton of information. Literally from the shuttle pickup to the shuttle drop off every encounter and part of the cruise deserves 5 stars. I highly recommend doing the 3 day and 2 night.
