Elite of the Seas ship is a scam. It claims to be a luxury cruise, but it is actually a hell on water. Here are some of the horrors I experienced: -- Food is disgusting. The chef is clueless about vegetarian food. He replaced lamb chops and clams with fruit spring rolls and pizza. It was like everyone else was dining at a five-star restaurant and I was stuck with fast food leftovers. The worst swap was a tater tot for duck breast — that’s insulting. Or how about cold tomato soup for lobster soup? That’s revolting. -- The walls are paper-thin. You can hear everything from the crew quarters and from around the ship and other ships. I could not get any sleep because of the constant noise and disturbance. -- Halong Bay is covered in air pollution & smog and water is filthy, full of trash. The view was awful. The air was smelly and the water was murky. I did not feel like I was in a natural wonderland, but rather in a garbage dump. -- WiFi is a joke. It only works from 4-6 am, and then it disappears. The router is either too small or they deliberately turn it off to save money. This left me isolated and frustrated, unable to contact anyone or do anything online. -- Music is dreadful. The pianist plays during meals and knows 3-4 songs and repeats them endlessly. The singer sounds like a dying cat. It was irritating and tedious to listen to the same music every day. -- My "king bed" was two single beds put together with a big lump in the middle! The only decent thing about this cruise is that the staff pretends to be nice and helpful. Customer Service Manager, Harry and butler Vu Phi were very, very polite. They tried their best to appease me, but they could not fix the problems that were beyond their power. I would advise anyone who wants a relaxing and enjoyable vacation to avoid this cruise at all costs. It was a rip-off and a nightmare. Elite of the Seas is not elite at all, but rather a fraud.
