I am a solo traveler and although I paid for essentially 2 seats, I was fortunate enough to secure my own private tour to Ban Gioc. The scenery of the beautiful North Vietnamese mountains, farmlands, and watching the local Vietnamese people tend to their daily functions definitely make up for the 7-hour, long drive north. Along the way, you’ll stop at an amazing sight called Angel Eye mountain before reaching the Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, which introduces you to an incredible view of rural Vietnam and distant mountains. Afterward, you’ll arrive at your hotel and enjoy a nice dinner. The next day starts out with you exploring a gigantic cave. And after breakfast, you’ll finally arrive at your last destination: the Ban Gioc waterfall, which borders China! My tour guide was Elvis and he did an outstanding job making sure I felt at home. Our driver was fantastic, too. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone.
