Ninh Binh - Pu Luong | Best Optional Choices | 3 - 4 days Tours

Our 4-day, 3-night tour with Authentic Adventures in Pu Luong and Ninh Binh was a fun and creative experience for our family from the United States. We hiked through beautiful rice terraces in Pu Luong, explored the stunning limestone karsts in Ninh Binh, Boat trip in Trang An cultural heritage site, visited ancient sites and enjoyed delicious food. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, During the tour, my wife had a stomachache and was a bit tired, the guide enthusiastically supported and went to buy medicine for her. and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the trip. It was an unforgettable journey that we'll always treasure.

I did a 2 day/1 night Pu Luong tour + 1 day Ninh Binh tour from Hanoi, since the transportation from Pu Luong to Ninh Binh wasn't available. Everything was very well organized by Authentic Adventures. Miss Hang stayed in contact with me through Whatsapp before and during the tours, answering my questions, organizing transfers and making sure everything went well. About the tour themselves : The Pu Luong tour was the highlight of my Vietnam trip, even if I didn't get lucky with the weather as it was quite foggy. But the trip to this countryside part of the country, which is not (yet?) very touristic was a very nice getaway. I ended up being the only tourist doing the tour. The transportation was by motorcycle. The accomodation (Pu Luong Happy Home) was really nice, with a very confortable room, great meals and nice staff. My guide Gam was really nice and informative, and I got to learn about the Thái minority. I really liked the hike to Kho Muong cave through rice terraces, and the trip to see the water wheels on the second day. Didn't find the bamboo rafting interesting , but nothing problematic. The Ninh Binh tour was a standard tour with about 18 people on the bus. The activities (Hoa Lu visit, bike, 2-hour Trang An boat tour, Mua Cave) were great with a very good guide. Only thing I didn't like was the meal at a touristic subpar buffet restaurant. It would probably have been better to add a day in Pu Luong to rest a little bit as there were many transportation in 3 days. But everything was really great and would probably contact this agency again if I go back to Vietnam.

Cultural Tour: This tour was an excellent way to learn about the culture and history of northern Vietnam. We visited local villages in Pu Luong, explored the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, and learned about traditional farming techniques. The accommodations were comfortable, and the food was delicious.
