Perfume Pagoda, Hanoi, Vietnam Pick up starts at 8 am and then we have a 1.5 hour drive approximately to the first location. You will have time for sightseeing.
Many Vietnamese people visit Chùa Hương on religious pilgrimage. The standard greetings from one pilgrim to another are "A Di Đà Phật" or "Namo Amitabha Buddha".For the purpose of pilgrimage there are various routes that one might take, but the most popular is to take a boat from Yến wharf, stopping at Trình Shrine to ‘present’ themselves at the ‘registration shrine
The boat ride will take approximately 1 hour each way. 30 minutes
Thien Tru Pagoda, Hanoi, Vietnam The next stop is Trò wharf, from which pilgrims travel on foot to Thiên Trù Pagoda. After Thiên Trù comes Tiên temple, followed by Giải Oan temple. It is believed that Buddha once stopped here to wash himself clean of the dust of humanity, and many pilgrims will wash their face and hands in Long Tuyền Well in hopes of washing away past karmas. While here, pilgrims may also visit Thuyết Kinh cave and Cửa Võng Shrine to worship the Goddess of the Mountains, or Phật Tích Shrine where there is a stone believed to be the preserved footprint of the Quan Âm 60 minutes
Perfume Pagoda, Hanoi, Vietnam From here pilgrims head toward the final destination: Hương Tích Cave. At Hương Tích there are statues of deities, but many pilgrims come to get blessings from the stalactites and stalagmites, many of which are named and have special purposes. Many childless pilgrims seek fertility from Núi Cô (the girl) and Núi Cậu (the boy), while others visit stalactites and stalagmites thought to give prosperity 40 minutes

What a fantastic experience all round, guide Minh was superb and spoke excellent English so everyone could understand, also he is a local to the area so his knowledge really went the extra mile. We were even treated to his karaoke of vietnamese songs on the return boat ride! Value for money as everything was included in the price, all but one short trip on transfer bus costing 10,000 dong. Initial pick up from my hotel in the old quarter of hanoi and drop off made this the perfect trip with zero hassle. Please include this as one of your trips while in Vietnam the views and understanding of local culture is unmatched. I do recommend visiting outside of the festival season, November to March as it does get ridiculously busy as many vietnamese people will make the journey and over 1 million people will be visiting each day, fortunately I went in April and there were no more than 100 people in the area so you get to take your time and enjoy everything at your own leasurely pace.
