This was an AMAZING experience off the beaten track. I will remember it all my life.
My gudies Chin (1st) and Sumy (2nd and 3rd day) were very kind and explained everything what was to happen.
Our homestay/family hotel was clean and comfortable with great view. A bit hard with English communication but otherwise no problems.
I stayed in a dormatory, but the comfortlabel was good. PuLoung was just breathtaking.
The villages were non touristy, calm and chill. And breathtaking!!
This place is for people who like auhtentic calm, experiences with the people and nature.
My hope is that Pu Loung is made as a ecotourism destination, because the environment is fragile. Of course tourists must be coming, but to keep it ecostyle and low key would make this place as amazing in the long run.
My tour went on smoothly (they picked in up at my hotel).
Only problem was that the driver at the ens did not drop me so close to my hotel on the back, I had to walk with my luggage for 15 min. Make sure they drop you approx close to hotel (but be aware some roads are prohibited for cars to enter in Hanoi old town, so the driver wont go exact)
My tips are:
- Lots of hiking going on, I say good hiking shoes (can get slipery)
- In march is can get a bit chilly
- Get Poncos, it can rain
- Get tips for the drivers, waiters, in villages (they dont ask for it but is nice)
- A power bank for charger is good
- They provide towels so you dont need to bring (I did which as a watse of luggage spce).
