We're going to be taking you into the countryside of Hanoi and into the small villages that are well-known 'by the locals' for manufacturing the same products within each village.

    We’ll start at the stunning Quảng Phú Cầu village as very recently seen on National Geographic. Incense sticks are lit in temples & local houses everywhere in Vietnam... find out why and take in the beauty of the bamboo sticks laying in the streets to dry. Not only that, but we'll take you to the factory that mass produces incense sticks to export around Vietnam and other areas of South East Asia. Bring your cameras because today is going to be a colorful day. NOTE: If it does rain then there may not be as many on show outside but no stress... we have a backup ️

  • Chuong Village, Hanoi, Vietnam
    Take a break and indulge in what will more than likely be your best meal in Vietnam. Finish up with some local tea (or a beer) before we get hands on You’ve seen the locals wearing the traditional cone-shaped leaf hats right? How could you not have? Have a go at weaving a Non-La yourself in Chuong Village. From drying the palm leaves in the sun, ironing them (believe it or not), hand stitching the leaves together, and tying on the strap... you'll learn all the steps to making them from start to finish. Absolutely no pressure but you'll be able to buy a hat here much more beautiful and cheaper than you can in the City.

I had such an amazing time on this tour with Jane! She was so kind and friendly right from the beginning. We were able to get out of the hectic city and see another and truly authentic side of Vietnam. On this tour we got a chance to see how they weaved the traditional Vietnamese hats and also where they make the incense used in temples. We got to see a bamboo village and interact with local people and hear about their way of life. This tour was a great way to see another part of Vietnamese life and to help support local people in a more rural area. You will have a blast on this tour with Jane and create memories for a life time : )

What a FANTASTIC experience! We ventured out into the countryside, south of Hanoi, and visited three craftwork villages. We saw (and experienced!) the process of making incense, the building of bamboo birdcages and the making of the iconic Vietnamese conical hat. Our host, Ms. Dung, is such a lovely person, and she was instrumental in making our experience truly memorable. I should also note that Mrs. Thanh, the artisan who makes the conical hats, threw down such an incredible spread for lunch. It was, without question, the most amazing meal we’ve had in Vietnam over the last two weeks - and that’s saying something because all of our dining experiences have been wonderful. If you visit Hanoi, do yourself a favor and book this experience… Without a doubt, it will be the highlight of your trip!
