The Old Town is one of Porvoo’s most colorful sights and tourist attractions, and is famous for its narrow lanes and brick-colored riverside warehouses. At the beginning of the 19th century, Finland became a part of Russia (known as the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland) after the Diet of Porvoo in 1809, convened by Alexander I, the Tsar of Russia.

Our guide Tia was amazing. She was fun, energetic, entertaining, and knowledgable about Helsinki and Porvoo. We enjoyed our tour with her and learning about Porvoo and spending time in the adorable medieval town.

We did a private tour of Medieval Porvoo using Viator Website. We were picked up at our Hotel in Helsinki and on our way to Porvoo we learnt the History of the Medieval Town and Finland in general. Our Guide was very knowledgeable on the History of Finland which made the trip even more interesting. We would recommend this tour as it gives you an insight into Beautiful Finland.
