This tour combines the historic section of Heraklion town with a culinary experience. You will visit the most important historic monuments of the town on a walking tour, while during your exploration, you will try the most renowned town delicacies such as the famous “Bougatsa” pastry, local “Loukoumades” donuts with honey, the traditional Greek coffee and herbal tea. The tour was amazing. Well organized, very informative and knowledgeable. Tells the story of Heraklion and Crete while hitting all of the highlights of the city. The culinary experience was equally wonderful. Would absolutely recommend.

Since 2005 Marilina Paters has been my professional tour guide for Crete and the Greek mainland, and more recently, my travel agent as well. In October 2019 I brought a group of seven people Foran in-depth study tour of Crete, from prehistoric through modern times. She provided us with excellent service-her profound knowledge of the island’s history, culture and food culture, and more. She also arranged for our stay at a beautiful boutique hotel in Heraklion, a seasoned bus driver and medium size van, and photojournalist. Everyone on that tour is talking about “next time.” I am currently in Greece traveling solo, and once more, Marilina has made all my arrangements, because of her, I feel that Greece is my second home.
