We walked through the woods and ate leaves that became berries and vitamin supplements. I'd heard that Helsinkiers were going berry picking for leisure, so it was nice to relive that.

My husband and I had an amazing time hiking the Nuukiso National Park, our guide was very informative and took us on an amazing route around the lake, stopping for berry juice and ending with homemade mushroom soup that was foraged from the woods. The walk was stunning, the lake beautiful and we had a truly amazing experience. Really recommend as part of your trip the Helsinki!

The hiking tour was the highlight of my trip to Helsinki! If you don’t have a lot of time, this is a great tour to get to experience Finland’s gorgeous forests and still have time to do more sightseeing as you are back by 1pm. David was a phenomenal guide with a wealth of knowledge on local plants, berries, and geology. The mushroom soup and snacks are delicious. They are something you should have while in Finland. The walk is pretty easy, around 3 miles with stunning views. It should go without saying, but make sure you wear shoes appropriate for hiking as there are muddy areas around the bogs.
