A relaxing walk with a kind and expert guide. We discovered native plants and the history of the place. Recommended!

A good guided walk that included exploration of a bog, wooded areas, with nice views of a lake from the shore and from a small cliff side. It was low key and had a nice authentic feel to it. Although we joined as a family, I think this worked for the solo travelers in our group of 8 as well. August might be a better but busier time as berries and mushrooms may be closer to their peak. We were not on the most publicized trails, yet there was so much to see on such a modest hike. He talked mostly about the flora and threw in a bit of geology as well. It felt like we had the national park to ourselves. Maybe as experienced hikers we could've visited the National Park independently using public transit, but we enjoyed the guide's company, knowledge, and service. If you love the wilderness, you can't leave Helsinki without visiting one of their National Parks, and this is a cost and time effective way to do it.

We walked through the woods and ate leaves that became berries and vitamin supplements. I'd heard that Helsinkiers were going berry picking for leisure, so it was nice to relive that.
