    Now is your chance to board the Jacobite Steam Train in Fort William, one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world. The train crosses the Glenfinnan Viaduct where a monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s campaign now stands. The train ride is approximately 2.5 hrs and will take you to Mallaig where your guide will meet you.

This was an excellent tour of the Scottish Highlands and Jacobite train ride. However, it is a real marathon adventure so plan for a full day in the tour van. Total time was about 350 kilometers over almost exactly 12 hours. Our tour guide, Frasier, was on hand with entertaining stories and made the trip worthwhile with photo-inducing scenic stops.

Great experience and well planned. 12 hours might Seem long but not in this Company with Harrison as guide. We really enjoyed the lokal folk Music and the great sights

So there was some confusion as to the departure time :( We booked a 930 am departure. A month before, received an email that due to unforseen circumstances it would depart 730 am. Our issued ticket and confirmation said 730 am, received 2 days prior. No other correspondence. It was 930 am :( We couldn't get a hold of anyone. So frustrating. That being said, Iain was great! The stops were rushed. That was not enjoyable. We didn't feel we got the best this tour could have offered. Maybe cut the first half of stops to make better use of time? At one stop by the time we used the rest room, there was no time to explore. And the lunch stop by the time we found a restaurant with tables gave us 25 min to eat. Not our first bus tour either, so disappointed. The train was neat. Maybe pack picnic lunches/dinner. Urquhart castle was also really rushed and we got back 45 min earlier than expected.
