Open Water Scuba Course

My husband and I came to Roatan for our Honeymoon and completed the open water dive course with West Bay Divers. We were so satisfied with our time there and have no plans to ever dive with anyone else in Roatan. The dive shop has such a warm, friendly atmosphere and we immediately felt welcomed there. Joel (our instructor) was absolutely fantastic, he loves diving and his excitement alone just made the experience so fun and enjoyable. We felt our classroom session was super beneficial and appreciated how thoroughly and carefully Joel taught each topic. He also spent as much time as needed to ensure our gear fit correctly and comfortably, trying different sizes and styles of masks and fins to make sure we had the best fit for our dives. If you want a shop that values safety and fun, this is your place. Joel had a great balance of making sure we felt confident and safe during each dive, teaching us techniques and checking in to make sure we were ok, but never hovered over us and gave us space to explore the underwater world and take in the amazing sea life. The dive boats and captains were equally as great and offered to help when getting in and out of the water. West Bay Divers was a 10/10 experience in every area possible. You will not regret diving with this fun crew!

One of the best experiences I've ever had. The location is exceptional. There is no better place to dive than a reef full of life. The beaches are paradise. The dive center feels nice, tidy and caring. It gives a lot of confidence to be there. All the material was in perfect condition and they were careful to take care of it. The staff was wonderful, from my instructor Joel who was very attentive, friendly, rolled up and nice; to the captains of the boats and the rest of the team. I would definitely dive with them again when I returned to Roatan.

We feel like we hit the jackpot when we got Joel as our dive instructor. Joel was absolutely amazing. We could not have asked for a better experience and a more compassionate, relatable, flexible and patient dive instructor. As a family of 4 - two daughters and my husband, we all came with some nervousness. Joel adjusted the program to accommodate all of our needs and answer our questions without any hesitation. I dont feel like any other dive now can compare! We only want to dive at West Bay Divers and Joel in Roatan! I'd give this experience way above 5 stars. thank you, West Bay and Joel!
