The guide was a very nice person. He presented the information in an interesting way. But! The time is definitely not 6 hours (or even 7 as stated in the description)! The first 30 minutes we spent sitting in a Pizza Hut area trying an egg tart. They are sold everywhere, so why?! Not much explanation about it or what was special about it. Then a walking tour around the Central area, including a visit to a former jail. After lunchtime, we did not go for dim sum tasting, so we had a nice time in a craft beer pub nearby. So minus another 45 minutes from the excursion. Then several stops on a local tram and crossing the harbour by ferry. In Kowloon, we were shown one building and got directions for what else is around. That’s it! No 10–15 minute stops as stated in the tour description. We asked the guide—who again was a very nice and knowledgeable person—and he confirmed that the description was misleading. In total: 10:30 to 11:00 – egg tart in a dirty dining area 45 minutes lunchtime (if you pay for it) 15:00 – end of tour Total time: 3 hours and 15 minutes.

We had high expectations for this tour, but it turned out to be one of the most disorganized and frustrating experiences we've encountered while traveling. Although our guide Ricky started off fine, the itinerary quickly became baffling. We spent an excessive amount of time wandering Sheung Wan looking at dried seafood—something no one in our group expressed any interest in—only to be rushed through far more interesting spots like Cat Street Market and the Western Market. Worse, the guide then abandoned us halfway through. We were then given the option to either accompany Ricky on the ferry across the harbor and then return alone to the remaining, or continue the rest of the tour on our own, without him. First, after the ferry, he pointed the direction to Avenue of the Stars rather than taking us there. In the confusion of the instructions that we needed to go back on the ferry to visit the other major landmarks such as 1881 Heritage, and the Clock Tower completely unguided we also missed seeing the Avenue of Stars altogether. There was no commentary, no support—just a casual handoff. It was a baffling and unacceptable approach for a paid, “guided” tour. Due to the wildly inefficient order, we were forced to end our tour on our own, and return to do Victoria Peak by ourselves in the evening to squeeze it in.. This wasn’t a curated tour—it was a poorly cobbled-together walking route with minimal value and even less consideration for the guest experience. Don’t waste your time or money. You’re better off exploring Hong Kong solo with a map and a good pair of shoes.

The tour was really interesting and informative. I saw places I wouldn’t have considered visiting. I had an amazing time. Summer out guide was excellent, she went out of her way to make sure that everyone had a great day and any assistance required
