Kerry, Ireland Discover in depth some of the most charming streets in Killarney including Main & High Street while you take a stroll with your local expert guide who will show you some of the hidden highlights and share insights that you would never find or find out on your own. Admire and take photos of the attractive nineteenth century shop fronts and houses while you guide shares insightful stories that will elevate your immersion into the history and character of Killarney. Walk over history as you stroll down some of the eleven lanes off High Street, many of them still cobbled and very atmospheric, that once were the beating heart of the town including the Old Market Lane. Learn how the 4th Earl of Kenmare gave the land here, free of charge, to sub-agents who built houses and had the lanes named after them. There’s so much to see and discover but only when you have a local expert who can show you where to find the highlights. 30 minutes
Killarney House Gardens, Killarney, Ireland Visit the picturesque Killarney House and Gardens nestled beyond the grand entrance to the National Park as you enter from the town. Here your guide will lead you on a guided stroll along pretty pathways weaving carefully through manicured gardens, an oasis of calm and an ideal starting point for a journey through the wonders of the National Park.
Enter through the ‘golden gates’, with each pillar topped with a lamp and coronet, that were originally built as the entrance to the large Chateaux style house constructed by the Browne’s in 1721. This powerful family had previously lived in Ross Castle on the banks of Lough Leane. Your guide will illuminate the importance of this family and legacy and their connection to the town.

Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty Memorial, Killarney, Ireland Visit this intriguing monument dedicated to Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty Monument. Throughout its history, Killarney has produced its fair share of influential people, but perhaps none more deserving of recognition than Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty, the heroic priest who helped saved thousands of lives in Nazi-occupied Rome during the Second World War. Credited with saving more than 6,500 people from certain death, Monsignor O’Flaherty became known as the Pimpernel of the Vatican and his achievements have inspired several books and films such as ‘The Scarlet and the Black’ where he was played by Gregory Peck. 10 minutes

Sprawling over 10,236 hectares, tour guests will visit this idyllic National Park to explore and admire its many highlights including the ancient oak woods, panoramic views of nearby mountains as well as the unique fauna and plants that thrive in the park as well as spot Ireland’s only wild herd of native red deer. 45 minutes

Gearoid is an amazing tour guide!! He was so friendly & knowledgeable about the city. He walked us all over & even showed us the good places to grab a bite. Then we had a wonderful carriage ride around the national park & had stunning views.
