EDIT: I've amended my rating to reflect the poor response from the owners when I asked for a 50% refund through Viator as on reflection I was not happy with what we paid for. I felt this request was fair on the basis that we had paid for a private tour (when another couple joined us) and the session was cut short by over half hour. Regardless of the fact they use images of horses cantering through the waves - which is false marketing, and we only ended up having a very slow walk to the beach and back. I take back my words about kindness, clearly this is a profiteering game and they have no regards for their customers happiness. I recommend you go elsewhere for your riding experience on Santorini. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I feel quite sad not providing a higher rating as the owners came across as lovely, and the horses clearly well cared for. However we came away feeling disappointed and as though the experience wasn’t good value for money. Expensive in fact. We explained our experience beforehand (I have been riding all my life, and my partner has ridden on most of our recent holidays) but the ride ended up being a very slow walk plodding along down a road leading to a black sandy beach for no longer than an hour rather than the hour and half we expected. Whilst we knew it was unlikely to be an exhilarating gallop through the waves, it was quite boring for us and lacked any thrill. I think we trotted for all of 10 seconds. We also booked a private session but ended up going out at the same time as another couple. Knowing this, we would have booked another riding experience. I would recommend for beginner or nervous riders, otherwise people who just want some photos sat on a horse on the beach would enjoy this. Wish we had spent our budget for riding in Santorini somewhere else ????
