    Hello friends! We will meet you in the morning at our meeting point and when the whole group is gathered, we will be ready to escape the chaos of our beautiful CDMX on a comfortable transport to the park Grutas de Tolantongo. Along our way, we will pass through beautiful landscapes that only a road trip can offer. When we arrive in Tolantongo we will start a descent down a small canyon that in its background houses a beautiful river of turquoise hot springs that emanates from an underground grotto system. Once inside the park we can do countless activities such as exploring the caverns and steam tunnels, admiring the waterfalls, swimming along the river, hiking, relaxing in the pools, falling in love in the tide pools, jumping from the zip line, and of course creating unforgettable memories At the end of such a fantastic adventure, we will start our journey back to CDMX.

The caves, falls, and pools are very cool.But driving 4+ hrs to get there and 5+ back makes me wish we had done something else.You need to be able to climb 5 flights of stairs quite easily to handle the rigorous of the terrain and steps.My 3 boys enjoyed it but again the drive back, getting hung up by demonstrators and a town festival half way back made this an arduous journey. The trip includes a towel, which is a 8" x 10" face towel, so bring your own towel, and includes "toilet paper". All the bathrooms where they provide toilet paper on the way in give you an equivalent of about 4 kleenex. So if you happened to feast on the enchilada special the day before, it would be wise to throw a roll of toilet paper in your backpack. Water temp was a luke warm in pools and quite hot, steamy in caves. But seeing the mass of water pouring thru the caves is impressive. Water shoes and a waterproof phone/money case to keep on you are a must but both sold on way to park. Provided lunch was mediocre by US standards. Don't eat salad anywhere.

This was so much more than we expected. Our guide was there to ensure we all had the best day possible. There is an optional zip line ($15) that’s totally worth it!

The tour was amazing! Our guide, Ana, was very knowledgeable about the history of the grutas, and the towns we passed through along the way there/back. At the grutas, she took us to the pools, the cave/waterfall, and the river, and gave us plenty of time at each stop. Our favorite was the cave/waterfall- she took us deep into the cave which was an incredible adventure. The driver, Miguel, was also great- patient, kind, and a very safe driver. One of the best days we’ve had on our trip, highly recommend Ana and this tour!
