This sprawling fort complex contains some splendid ruins of palaces and mosques. It is said that the fort remained impregnable throughout its history.     You will be picked up from your hotel in the evening and driven to the historic Golconda Fort that sits on top of a hill just outside Hyderabad. The fort served as the capital of several dynasties - the Kakatiya dynasty between the 12th and 13th century, the Bahmani dynasty followed by the Qutub Shahi dynasty in the 16th and 17th century. The fort remained impregnable throughout its history except when it was conquered by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1686 after a nine-month siege. Even then, it was conquered due to a traitor who opened the main gate to the enemy. The show lasts for over an hour and features the voice of the Bollywood star, Amitabh Bachchan and music by well known Indian performers. After the show, enjoy dinner (own expense) at a local restaurant.  After dinner you will be dropped back at your hotel.

It is a pretty boring show. There is a lot of scope for improvement. There is not much light in the show. It was like listening to an audio seating at home

The show timings are 6.30 pm for English and 7.45 in Telugu ( Nov-Feb) and 7pm in English and 8.15 in Telugu ( Mar-Oct) . The admission fee is Rs.140 for adults and Rs.110 for children. You can book online on Telangana tourism official website or buy them from the counter at the fort before the show. There is no need to pay hefty monies to private operators. Both Ola and Uber services are easily available.
