This otherwordly Reykjavík trail running tour is for runners that love the outdoors and beautiful views. With only a 20 minute drive from the Reykjavík city center, we will reach the remote lava field area of Burfell Volcano. You will see the ridges on both sides rise, jogging where the lava flowed about 8.000 years ago until you reach the volcano itself. On the way there, we will explore a cave and on top the Volcano, the view is breathtaking. This Tour is for slow and fast runners who want to enjoy the outdoors in Iceland. The purpose is to enjoy rather than run fast and the speed depends on the group.

  • Burfell, Gardabaer, Iceland
    The run is done on trails that are not very technical. The Crater itself is half way through the run where you will stop 5-10 minutes, enjoy the view and listen as the guide gives you information of the volcano and surrounding mountains. The time the run takes depends on weather, conditions and the speed of participators.

What a fantastic morning running through lava fields just outside Reykjavik with an experienced and interesting guide. Highly recommended for any runner who wants run somewhere outside the conventional.
