The Glacier Discovery tour takes you on a journey towards a majestic glacier ice fall. After a short 4x4 super-jeep drive that brings us very close to the glacier, we will put our crampons on, arm ourselves with ice axes and start our hike up the glacier. The tour is designed for those looking for an in depth glacier hike in Iceland. During this glacier hike your guide will teach you about the geology, geography and history of the local area, as well as pointing out some of the fascinating features of the ice. The glacier surface and colour changes constantly depending on the time of year and features such as Moulins, glacier cones and crevasses come and go. The landscape is one of constant motion, but one thing never changes; what an incredible experience it is to go glacier hiking in Iceland.

For our glacier hike we met at a gas station where we were fitted for our crampons and received our ice axe. We then took a supper jeep ride to the bottom of Falljokull. From there we spent the next couple of hours hiking the glacier. We even got to travers some crevasses! The whole experience was amazing from the start to the end. Our tour guide Daniel was extremely knowledgable about the glacier and the surrounding area! He was very patient with our small group and made the whole hike so fun! I would 100% recommend doing this excursion with this Local Guide!

Beautiful day. It was a small group which was nice and we felt safe the whole time. Very awesome to get very close to the glacier.

Une parfaite organisation et une logistique impeccable , un encadrant d’excellent niveau, maîtrisant parfaitement les dimensions tant techniques que pédagogiques et particulièrement attentif et interactif (Florent, français!), une adaptabilité du programme de la sortie au niveau et aux attentes du groupe ont fait de cette demi-journée un moment fort de notre parcours à travers l’Islande. Un opérateur familial depuis plusieurs générations à soutenir et un guide anglophone -francophone à féliciter…le tout à recommander sans modération !
