Feel like you are on top of the world with this day hike that will get the adrenaline pumping. Sólheimajökull is part of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, which is the 4th largest in Iceland. It has a mixture of ash and ice, which gives it a dark color up close. We will hike around, so you can see various crevasses. This is a meet on location tour, you will meet your guide in the parking lot for gearing up and a safety briefing. This hike is moderately challenging, so we do not recommend for any smaller children and anyone with physical limitations.. Superleuk ervaring! Via guide to Iceland gevonden. We hebben drie uur met een kleine groep van 6 op de gletsjer gelopen. Er was goede gear (ijstijd, stijgijzers en helm). De gids, Ingo, is super aardig, had kennis van zaken en heeft humor. Doordat de groep zo klein was konden we ook bij wat ‘spannendere’ plekken kijken waar het water door het ijs weggevoerd werd en hele diepe putten gezien werden. Het voelde de hele tijd veilig, er was goede begeleiding. We hebben prachtige foto’s kunnen maken en veel lol gehad. We kunnen het iedereen aanraden!:)

We had an amazing hike on the glacier with Styrmir, the best tour guide ever! He told us interesting stories and legends about Iceland and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the all experience. We can’t recommend this tour (and this guide) enough! Ciao!
