There is no experience more authentically Icelandic than hiking through the surreal landscapes of the highlands followed by a relaxing soak in a geothermal pool. The Canyon Baths The Húsafell locals who undertook the Canyon Baths project went to great lengths to keep the entire structure as environmentally unobtrusive, sustainable and true to the area’s heritage as possible. Choose from two geothermal pools of varying temperatures, 30-41°C (86-105°F), plus a cold-water spring at 10°C (50°F), each with a spectacular view of the surrounding canyon, mountains and glaciers. Led by a knowledgeable local guide in English, this year-round tour begins with a short ride from the Húsafell Activity Centre to the trailhead in the remote Icelandic Highlands. On this 2-hour tour we enjoy a relaxed walk among natural wonders not found in many guidebooks, including the spectacular two-tiered waterfall Langifoss.

Canyon Baths is een mooie ervaring. Je wordt met een busje naar boven gebracht. De wandeling tot de baden was minder ver dan we dachten. Wel moet je meer dan 60 trappen afdalen en daarna terug beklimmen , maar op zich geen probleem. De plek is uniek. Wij gingen in maart, hadden het geluk om met maar 1 ander koppel aanwezig te zijn dus lekker rustig. In maart was het heel koud maar het is een unieke ervaring om te baden in heerlijk warm water met op de achtergrond een bevroren waterval en sneeuw. Het is een sprookje. We hadden ook een voortreffelijke gids die veel achtergrond informatie gaf van de streek Husafell

We LOVED our experience with Húsafell Canyon Baths. We were there in early December and booked the 5pm tour. We ended up being the only couple on the tour and in the Baths! Our tour guide was outstanding. He shared details about the geography of the canyon and the history of the area. The Baths are very romantic at night! On our way out we saw a moon rainbow! The only thing that could have made our experience there better would have been to see the Northern Lights, but we were so blessed to see them at Hotel Husafell later in the evening!
