We had Manjeet as our driver for three days. He picked us up from the airport along with Sunil, who was the manager. Manjeet was an excellent driver, navigating the challenging roads of the golden triangle (Huge trucks, tractors, motor scooters, and cows sitting in the road). He drove in such a way that we were comfortable, even in the middle of that madness, and he was cordial the entire time.
Deejohn also arranged tour guides for us at each stop. The tour guides helped coordinate everything with our driver, and kept hawkers away, so they're worth the Rs 500 just for that. The one we had in Agra did make things feel a bit rushed and wasn't particularly informative, so don't consider this a guarantee of a good tour guide. Our guide in Jaipur was much better, so it's a little hit-or-miss.
=== Areas for improvement ===
We asked for an English speaking driver. Sunil passed Manjeet off as English-speaking, but quiet. The reality is that Manjeet knew about 10 words of English at best. Between his 10 words of English and my 10 words of Hindi, we got by. Manjeet also didn't have a smartphone. The entire country of India runs on WhatsApp, so it's a little frustrating that Deejohn didn't provide him with a smartphone.
Even more problematically, Manjeet's phone couldn't receive international text messages. Sunil did an excellent job as acting as a go-between to mitigate the problems though, I would send Whats-App messages to Sunil in English and he would call Manjeet and communicate to him in Hindi. Not an ideal situation, but they handled it well.
Clear communication about what's included- Tolls, Gasoline, and Meals are often paid by tourists when they hire a car and driver in India. I left cash aside to pay for these things, but other than one toll, our driver handled all of these.
If you are going to be spending several hours a day in a car, do try to find something a little nicer than a Suzuki Swift. The Honda City is much quieter and more comfortable on the rough roads of India, though it would probably cost a bit more.
Finally, a trivial complaint - the contract said we would be supplied with two bottles of water each day, but that only happened on the first day.
Overall, Deejohn was excellent and I recommend them to anyone on a budget. I rarely feel comfortable with other people's driving, but with Manjeet I slept peacefully even in the chaos of India's roads. If you speak Hindi, it'd be 5/5. For me 4/5 because of the language issue and the rough ride of the Suzuki Swift, but a bonus +1 for how well Sunil and Deejohn handled the issues, so 5/5.
I found this tour company on internet and found the tour operator was very helpful, kind and professional. The service was fast and looked so reliable at first and impressive at the end. Mr. Sunil Kumar was really professional, so was Mr. Vinod as my driver. Everything provided - the car, the driver, the guides, the hotels and the programs - was perfect. I will recommend this tour service to anyone.
