Chandor was one of the oldest known capitals of Goa. Goa was a Portuguese colony for over four centuries during which there was a strong influence of culture, language, tradition and architecture. All over the state, there are beautiful houses which have floor plans and features from what you would observe in Portugal. Highlights -The First Capital of Goa -Curse on the Village -Indo Portuguese Houses over 500+ years old -The Footprints of the Queen -Kadamba Dynasty Temple Ruins -River Kushavati Note: This is not a walking trail. I had taken a Soul Travelling walking tour of Fontanihas during one my office trip to Goa in 2023. I had liked it so much that when I made the plan to visit Goa this time with my wife, I decided to do another one of their tour. I contacted their sales team a nd they recommended Houses of Chandor trip since were staying in South Goa. Houses of Chandor tour surpassed even my high expectations. Rajat Rane, our guide was knowledgeable, had the knack of making complex topics relatable and easy to understand. And he was able to engage both a history buff like me and a beginner like my wife. He is an amazing storyteller who can hold your attention very well. We were so impressed that we signed up for their Chasing Cascades and Water Dabal trek for the next day. It was fun as well. Highly recommended.
