Chandor was one of the oldest known capitals of Goa. Goa was a Portuguese colony for over four centuries during which there was a strong influence of culture, language, tradition and architecture. All over the state, there are beautiful houses which have floor plans and features from what you would observe in Portugal. Highlights -The First Capital of Goa -Curse on the Village -Indo Portuguese Houses over 500+ years old -The Footprints of the Queen -Kadamba Dynasty Temple Ruins -River Kushavati Note: This is not a walking trail. Transport is required to get between the points in between the trail. We recommend using the same transport that you come by to get between the points in the trail. Have again gone for the trail, this time with my mother and younger brother. Coincidentally, we were again hosted by Rajat, and it is amazing to see the same energy and passion towards the trail. For first timers, this is a beautiful experience, especially if you like exploring the unseen and unheard stories of Goa, both published and folklore as well as antiquities and architecture. The trail is a great example of the diversity offered by Goan heritage.

Excellent experience of rural cultural and architectural richness of south Goa with Tavanya from soul travelling. It’s impressive how much historical data this company has gathered and proudly present the heritage of Goa. Tavanya is such a warm and friendly host, I was on a solo trip and it felt like me and her are such great friends and have been on a trip together. Appreciate Soul Travelling for giving us these experiences which is very easy to miss otherwise. The savouries from Flames Garden cafe in Chandor were really good and do drop in there for their yummy lime flavoured kokum. The hosts of the Chandor houses were so friendly and welcoming. Thanks Tavanya for a soulful experience.
