Thank you so much for making our arrival in Delhi memorable. Our driver, Ramish Rana was a welcome sight holding a paper with our name as we exited the airport. He had been waiting patiently while we were inside clearing immigration. His vehicle was spotless.
This was our first trip to India. We were arriving close to midnight, after a 22 hr trip. I had read many negative stories about taxis, drivers, condition of vehicles. Our experience with Virsa Travels couldn't have been more positive.
After my initial contact online I received timely confirmation. I paid through PayPal. Within 72 hrs of my flight I was contacted to again to reconfirm Flight #.
From time of landing, clearing immigration ( expect long lines), and picking up luggage, it was close to 1:00 AM. Walking outside Gate 5 at Terminal 5 you can be overwhelmed at the number of drivers waiting for passengers. We had to scan MANY name cards before spotting Ramesh holding up our name. Bless him, he was right in the front waiting patiently for us since 11:00 PM! We followed him a short distance, maybe 40 yards to a lighted area where he asked us to wait while he got his car. We waited less than 3 minutes with one or two other families at this spot. He pulled up in a small SUV type vehicle. There was more than enough room for us and our 3 suitcases. He greeted us with a necklace of fragrant fresh flowers. There was bottled water waiting for us in his spotless vehicle. Ours was but a short ride to our hotel in Aerocity, we were returning to airport late the next morning for our flight to our final destination. He had confirmed we had a ride back to airport since this was a One-Way reservation. My daughter, who were visiting had made the return airport transfer through the hotel. Rakish was very gracious, he gave us his # if we should have any problems returning to airport the next morning. I would not have hesitated if this occurred.
***Customs Forms were NOT passed out on our flight. Make sure you pick up forms on a table near the Immagration doors. We got in one of the many lines available, without having customs form ( small 4x6 piece of paper) in hand. Fotunately, a woman with touring students in line behind us had a handful of them and shared with us and another couple.***
