    Next, visit the imposing red sandstone Agra Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638 and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The maze of the courtyards, mosques & private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire. You will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by free time for shopping. Agra is known for its fabulous handicrafts made of marble and soft stone inlay work. Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work are leatherware, brassware, carpets, jewellery and embroidery work.

    Afterward, take time to take photos of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh — the moonlit garden — believed to have been designed by Shah Jahan to view the Taj on moonlit nights, far away from the maddening crowd, The garden complex is situated on the left bank of Yamuna opposite to TajMahal. It is a huge square measuring approximately 300x300 m and in straight alignment with the Taj Mahal. The forestry plantations and agricultural fields provide a green forecourt to TajMahal and its reflection in Yamuna.

Prashant Singh did a great job with our group day trip to Agra. We had 14 people, which is hard to manage, yet he wholly managed us and was very flexible. He was very knowledgeable about all of the monuments that we visited throughout the day, and did a good job of relaying the information to us. During the day he not only kept us together well, but was able to improvise the itinerary to fit our tightened schedule due to flights, which demonstrated excellent service. I would recommend his tour to people who are visiting Agra for the first time (most of our group) or for the sixth time, as he had many insights that I much enjoyed and did not know prior. He has great English skills and did a great job of communicating with me via WhatsApp in the days leading into our tour, as well as with the group. To me, he struck a strong balance of leading and herding the group, with adequate free-time to explore the monuments. Thank you Prashant Singh for the lovely Agra visit.
