A UNESCO World Heritage site, the tomb was built in 1570 and is the first garden tomb of the Indian subcontinent. The tomb complex combines Persian and Turkish styles of architecture.
Situated within the grounds of Humayun’s tomb is another architectural marvel, Isa Khan’s tomb. It is the tomb of Isa Khan Niyazi, an influential nobleman in the court of Sher Shah Suri. The tomb dates back to the 16th century. There is a mosque as well situated in the grounds of the octagonal tomb complex. Notable thing is that the tomb was built in the lifetime of Isa Khan. The octagonal tomb is embellished with canopies and glazed tiles. There are lattice screens in a deep verandah supported by pillars.
