    Visitors tour an interactive exhibit featuring the story of real-life pirate "Black Sam" Bellamy and his fabled beloved Maria Hallett. Visitors will be able to see and touch real pirate treasure from the wreck of Bellamy's ship, the Whydah Gally. The Whydah was a slave ship-turned pirate ship which wrecked off of the Cape Cod coastline in 1717 following a violent storm. Artifacts and real treasure have been pulled from the bottom of the ocean...surrounded by sharks...following the discovery of the ship's bell in 1984 by famed underwater explorer Barry Clifford. The exhibit renews regularly with the discovery of new artifacts by onsite archaeologists which visitors can witness with their own eyes. A video, photo experience and retail gift shop round out the visit. Groups are welcome.

We were looking for something a little different to do in Salem, and after reading the reviews, we planned a visit. If you're into pirate history, this is a great place to explore. It has authentic pirate loot on display, along with its fascinating history. Towards the end of the tour, they demonstrate how items are recovered and cleaned from the ocean floor. The staff is knowledgeable and truly passionate about their jobs. There is a small gift shop at the end that offers reasonably priced items. Take the time to read the information on display, and be sure to look up as you journey through pirate history. There’s a nice surprise for all shark fans! This is a real review. P.S. Don’t forget to come up with a pirate name for yourself as you go back in time. I was Anne Bonny for the day, one of the best women pirates of her time! Enjoy! Argh!

This is a cute, museum. I feel it was the perfect length for a museum and had so much history and facts along the way. I loved seeing the actual recovered pieces. The gift shop was very cute too.

If you need a break from everything witchy this is a nice diversion, liked seeing the actual artifacts that were recovered from shipwreck
