It takes less than 10 minutes to travel from Interlaken up to the Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s home mountain. Here, at 1322 m above sea level, you enjoy fabulous views of the Jungfrau Region with the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau as well as Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

    The trip is unguided, you may just board the funicular. You find the location/GPS of the departure station on Google and on the Jungfrau Railways website. The great journey starts not far from Interlaken Ost station and leads through a charming forest and through a wildlife park. If Interlaken had a king, he would reside on the Harder Kulm. From the viewing platform at 1,322 metres above sea level, you will graciously look down upon Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, or admire the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Visit the “Two-Lakes-Bridge” and an airy viewing platform with a glass area in its floor. Restaurant can't be missed as looks like a small castle and is open also during evening time. In order to visit it, however, you don't need to be a king – just take a seat in the funicular and ascend Interlaken's own mountain!

مطل هاردر كولم رائع يطل على مدينة انترلاكن وبحيرة ثون وحولها وعلى قمم جبال الالب الشاهقة الرائعة وعليها الثلوج وانصح بالذهاب الى هناك لعشاق السياحة والسفر

8 minuti di viaggio sulla teleferica con tante persone stipate (quasi da non respirare) per arrivare ad un punto panoramico affollatissimo che, per raggiungerlo, bisogna passare tra i tavolini di un ristorante, che nel nostro caso era pieno di gente (i camerieri dovevano passare tra i turisti che erano in fila per fare la fatidica foto). Tanta confusione che non si addice alla montagna (1323 metri di altitudine). Il panorama merita, così come il camminamento per arrivare al punto panoramico e i sentieri nel verde nei dintorni...ma per il resto, sinceramente non ci ritornerei. Ovviamente i soldi della teleferica possono essere risparmiati andando a piedi.

We went to Harder Kulm with not much expectations but found the whole experience exhilarating with great views of the twin lakes (Thun and Brienz) as well as the Alps. Note that Harder Kulm is just 10 minutes from Interlaken via a funicular and not too expensive at CHF 40 per person without a Swiss pass. It also has a wonderful restaurant where we had delicious tomato soup and red wine. They were also selling some good souvenirs at decent prices. We were also lucky to have experienced a thunderstorm and heavy rains when we were there as we enjoyed the accompanying cold weather! Overall we had a great time as the whole trip took less than hour and a half. Very convenient!
