Our jeep safari tour for the southern part of the island mainly addresses to the guests staying in accommodation in the south of Corfu. Our route features as a starting point the summer resort of Moraitika.

    First we visit the church of Taxiarchon in the village of Chlomos* in order to enjoy the panoramic view of the southern part of the island. After that, we wander around the traditional village so that we can get a glimpse of the unique architecture and the everyday lives of the locals. Chlomos is also an ideal place to experience the traditional Greek coffee along with the magical liquid which accompanies it that only the people living in the villages of Corfu know about.

  • Winery Leivadiotis Corfu, Agios Matheos, Greece
    Our next stop is Livadiotis, a small charming vineyard where we get to taste the local wine before arriving in the lake Korission.

  • Lake Korission, Greece
    Lake Korission is a unique place in Corfu as it stretches on the left side of Halikounas beach and has a very rich ecosystem. It is also protected by Natura 2000 due to its rare flora and fauna. Depending on the time of the year, you can see Flamingos, ducks, cormorants and thousands of colorful butterflies.

    It wouldn’t be a tour of the south of Corfu if we did not stop at the village of Agios Matthaios and more specifically at “the Governor”. Here, Dafnis family produces its own olive oil and we get to try it out through a unique olive oil tasting experience. The family business is very popular not only in Greece but also around the world as the famous bottles with Ioannis Kapodistrias illustrated are being sold even at Harrods in London.

    After this one of a kind experience, we visit the traditional village of Pentati where Sofia will prepare for us local delicacies as we get to enjoy the endless blue of the Ionian Sea.

    Well what can I say! It was awesome, away from the normal tourist locations and seeing the real life Corfu. Yannis our driver was entertaining and passionate about the lovely green island we were driving through. There a many stops for photo opportunities and a visit to the local olive oil factory, were you taste test different oils. Sounds weird, but go. The difference between shop bought and the real thing is miles apart. It's off-road in places which was great, so expect some discomfort, the lunch time meal was English based and a little heavy, and traditional salad would of been better. The only negative I have about the whole trip was the vehicle ( JEEP ). Yes it seats 6 but, unless your a child the back two seats were very uncomfortable and difficult to get into the very back. Apart from that would highly recommend the tour, excellent. And thank you Yannis.

    Great day pit! The Jeep accommodates 6 but we had 4 in so just two couples and the driver Yanni. Yanni was hugely entertaining and took us to spots we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. The route included a trip to an olive museum which was interesting and included tasting. The lunch and location was great too. Had we had more time we would have happily booked the Southern trip too.
