Fabulous from start to finish. Gerry was so knowledgable and was able to fill all the driving downtime in the morning with cool facts and history info about Ireland and all of the places we were driving through. He also had great jokes/comedic timing, and a great laugh! We took the train over from Dublin at the crack of dawn and went back that night which made for a very long day, but was well worth it!
The ferry rides were a little rough because there weren’t enough seats and also people run over to the side of the boat when passing the cliffs and stood in front of the entire railing, blocking the view for everyone else. Please exercise self awareness and don't be that person if/when the time comes because it really detracted from the experience.
Once on Inisheer (Inis Oirr) island, we rode bikes along the coast (rented regular bike for 16 euro), pet some animals, ate fish and chips at o’flaherty’s (10/10 no notes), walked on the beach (water is freezing but refreshing), and then had a piece of gluten free fudge cake from the cafe near the pier. An EXCELLENT day! Going up to the top of the cliffs/visitor center was a great photo op and we checked out the gift shop as well. The drive back to Galway was peaceful and he played music to allow people to relax/rot for a bit.
