    Cabo Catoche is about 43 kilometers east of Holbox and it’s the point where the Caribbean sea and the Gulf of Mexico meet. In this area you can see incredible scenery with pristine beaches. It`s the ideal place for fishing and snorkeling because of its lush marine life. But bear in mind that weather conditions may affect this tour. DOLPHINS: on this tour you may see dolphins in the outer part of Cabo Catoche. FISHING: North of Cabo Catoche we will catch some fish that we will use as ingredients in our ceviche. SNORKELING: At the area of Cuevones which is about 2 feet deep you can see all kinds of fish and soft corals. Under stones in the water you can find the harmless nurse sharks lurking in the background and sometimes you can also see hawkshark, octopus and lobsters. (If the water isn’t calm, visibility may not be optimal) BEACH AND MANGROVES: After snorkeling we will go ashore at the virgin beach where you can take a walk around the island to take pictures. Then we will prepare and eat our ceviche on the beach. If the tide is high we will go through a mangrove that will take us back to Holbox on the other side of the island.

Great trip, great crew, solid experience all around. We had 6 total passengers. Come prepared with good sun protection and a little sense of adventure and you'll have a great time. Fresh ceviche that you caught yourself, enjoyed under coconut trees at Cabo Catoche was a memorable experience. And pods of dolphins just added to it. Snorkeling was decent, despite poor visibility from a recent storm. Tons of fish, healthy reef, nurse sharks, angelfish, and a big moray eel.

This was probably our favorite experience on Holbox. Our guide Gustavo was awesome and a wealth of knowledge about the area and the environment. We caught two barracudas and Gustavo and captain Pablo made the freshest and most delightful ceviche on the boat while we enjoyed walking along the empty beaches. We were not able to snorkel on this trip because the water wasn't very clear but we were still able to enjoy the beach and cooling off in the water. I highly recommend this trip if you can only do one thing while in Isla Holbox.

Nous sommes partis faire une matinée en bateau privé pour de la pêche et du snorkelling le 17 février dernier. Nous avons été pris en charge a notre hôtel le matin a 8h, puis direction le port pour un départ en bateau privé. Nous avons eu la chance d'être accompagnés de la guide, Sandra, qui est française, et qui a été vraiment géniale pour expliquer à mes deux enfants et leur faire découvrir les oiseaux. Apres 30' de bateau, nous nous sommes arrêtés pour pêcher avec des fils de pêches, hameçon et appâts. Les enfants ont eu un peu de mal mais nous avons réussi a pêcher pas mal de poissions. Ensuite, malheureusement nous n'avons pas pu faire de snorkelling car la visibilité n'était pas suffisante mais nous sommes partis dans la mangrove pour faire un peu de baignade, balade sur la plage, dans un endroit paradisiaque et désert pendant que Sandra et le capitaine nous ont préparé un excellent repas fait du poisson que nous venions de pêcher. Puis après, retour via l'Ile aux Oiseaux pour la découverte de beaucoup d'espaces avec des explications très précieuses de Sandra. Et finalement retour vers 14h au port. Ce faut une matinée inoubliable. Merci beaucoup a Sandra, les enfants ont adoré ce moment.
