We had high expectations when we booked this ‘evening food tour in Istanbul’. As self confessed foodies and passionate home cooks as well we thought we would be tasting the best that Turkey had to offer. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. In fact I would say I would not book another of these tours through urban adventures. We paid over $100 Aus per person for a piece of cheese, melon. a fig. Half a deep fried meat cake, a mussel, half a roll with offal on it ( which I couldn’t eat), coffee, a small square of baclava and a ‘wet burger’. Of all the beautiful meats, spices and tasty offerings in Turkey I think urban adventures are definitely working on a huge profit margin with these meagre offerings. Our guide was a really nice guy and it was a nice group of people but we have done a number of food tours all over the world and this was probably our most disappointing.
