We enjoyed our day, despite the rain. We saw the palace, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar. Our tour guide was informative and quite knowledgeable, able to answer all our questions. The bell was delicious, and was at a Michelin rated restaurant.We were disappointed with Hagia Sophia, as non Turks weren’t allowed in the bottom part of the mosque, and we were told our entry didn’t include the museum. The tour was quite expensive, I believe the tickets to Hagia Sofia were 25 euros each, definitely not wirth the price of the ticket. At Jessy we waited until later in the afternoon to go in, because the line earlier in the day was extremely long.

We’ve done many of these small group tours in the past and this was one of the best. Baruk was an amazing guide. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and funny. There’s a lot going on in Instanbul these days and he was able to explain (without bias) all of the intricacies of the politics and religious factors. It’s a lot to fit into one day (there were lines at the mosques) but Baruk maneuvered us around with ease. After the tour there was a large rally going on in Instanbul- Baruk went the extra mile (literally) and walked us all the way back to our hotel to ensure we felt safe.
