Travel back to 79 AC and see what Herculaneum's squares and houses looked like before being destroyed in a volcanic eruption. Meet your Tour Assistant at Herculaneum main entrance and get kitted out with your glasses before listening to a quick introduction to how to use them. Then, begin your tour guided by your Tour Assistant which has been designed by an archaeologist team to show you what life was like in Herculaneum before the eruption. The software of the glasses creates holograms that overlap the existing ruins, showing what the most significant temples, houses, and buildings originally looked like. Cast yourself into the bygone age of ancient life in Herculaneum, walking through the city to feel like a Roman.     Our Tour Assistant will meet you at the entrance of the archaeological park and takes you along the main route where you will see Herculaneum as it was in the past and as it is today thanks to our 3D glasses with augmented reality.

  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • Once the tour is over and the augmented reality glasses are returned, it is possible to stay in the archaeological park and explore the site independently.
  • The tour will take place regardless of weather conditions, so it is advisable to dress appropriately.
  • This is a walking tour, please ensure you wear the proper shoes.
  • Children under 8 years old can access the park with a standard ticket, but they cannot use the 3D technology.
  • Children under 18 must show a valid identity document or passport at the ticket office
  • AR glasses can also be worn by participants who already wear eyeglasses.
  • Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure time.
  • If you are late, we will wait for a maximum of 5 minutes. After that, the tour will start out of respect for the other participants.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Just myself and my 10 year old took the tour. It was a really amazing way to see the ruins. You essentially walked around and then at key locations put the glasses and headphones on and the IT your guide would play the view to your headset. It was an enlightening experience! Its worth noting your don't get an actual Tour Guide who will tell you all about the ruins (which was slightly disappointing) but my daughter loved it and we wandered around for another hour when the tour was done. Way better than Pompeii!!

This was by far the coolest and impressive tour my wife and I have done in Italy. Not only was the technology outstanding, our tour guide Daniela was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the site, super friendly and accommodated all our needs. She also handled a stressful situation of part of our group not arriving on time like a true professional, effortlessly leading my wife and I on our tour, all while handling and coordinating the missing groups needs. Bravo Daniela! As mentioned, the technology is truly a unique way to experience the ruins. It is worth every penny, giving you a peek into Roman history like you have never experienced before. As an AR developer and educator, it was great to see the technology in practice. I can’t wait to see how your company grows the possibilities of tourism with AR. Once you add spatial tracking and occlusion to the reconstructions, you’ll have something even more magical then it already is. Next time I offer my AR term abroad course in Florence, I’ll definitely look you all up to see what tours I can schedule for my students. Cheers! Fernando Orellana
