We went to this experience with our two sons aged 11 & 14. The instructor Jien was incredibly talented as a martial artist and a very good and patient teacher. He knew enough English to be understood and for us to communicate well. A really lovely chap! My sons have both practiced martial arts in the past and so loved learning the techniques with the samurai swords and throwing the shuriken. This was a very authentic experience in a proper working dojo and so if you’re looking for a more polished, commercialised TV style ninja experience - this is not for you! The dojo is also about 40 mins outside the centre of Tokyo but easily accessed by subway. It’s then a 10 min walk from the station so Google maps was vital in finding it.

Using Ninja weapons was fun! Being in a real dojo was cool! Jung communicated via Google translate but it made it more authentic somehow.
