You will put on the traditional samurai outfit and wield a katana just like a real samurai. This is the only samurai sword experience in Tokyo where you would feel like a real samurai and have a real hands on sword experience different from some simple costume play. Many people come to Japan to learn about the history of samurai and fulfill their childhood dream of being a samurai and this is it. The lesson includes hakama wearing,, wearing samurai armor and samurai helmet and posing in front of several samurai-theme backgrounds. The whole experience takes about 75 minutes.

We took the special package which included a sword fighting lesson with Ryo, a 22nd generation to a Samurai family. It was amazing. We had so much fun and it gave us a taste of what sword fighting looked like. Highly recommend. Worth the extra money.

The sword experience was absolutely amazing. Taught by Ryo, the 20+ generation of a samurai family. He was professional, clearly skilled, and very friendly. The initial museum tour was okay, but overrun with people who didn't care to listen and were roudy/disrespectful to the guide. It certainly took away from that part of the experience. The sword experience was a much smaller group of truly interested individuals.

Amazing sensei Ryo, very great to be taught, we had a lot of fun. Very interesting, you can discover the history of samurai and ninjas and take great photos! TOKYO SAMURAI MUSEUM WITH EXPERIENCE! ????
