A friend and I took the shuttle from Jerusalem to Eilat. As seniors, it only cost $20 each. I was afraid that meeting the shuttle at 4AM would be torture, but it was actually a treat to take a cab through the city when there was no traffic at all. When we got to the meeting place at the David Citadel Hotel, we found a few other travelers waiting. The shuttle didn’t arrive until 4:15. The seats were comfortable, they had seat belts and they reclined slightly. The ride only took 4-1/2 hours, including two 10-minute pit stops. There were some very bumpy spots, probably a function of uneven roads. The driver let us off in front of our hotel.
