Within minutes of taking off from our beach from helipads, you will be in the spectacular environment that plays host to one of the worlds largest marine mammals, the magnificent Sperm Whale. This flight allows you extra time in the whale area to view these majestic creatures of the deep. This also gives you the possibility of viewing dolphins for just a little extra. - A better option for when the whales are feeding further off shore or are holding their breath for longer than expected. - More chance to view any transient baleen whales - these whales typically spend short surface intervals (one to 4 breaths) followed by long periods under water (often 2-5 minutes), the longer flight time gives us longer wait for them. - Depending on the location of the Sperm whales, gives us more time to search for dolphin and /or fly along the Kaikoura southern coastline on our way back to land.

Cal was a great pilot and the entire experience was easy from start to finish/ within 5 minutes we saw two Sperm Whales, we stumbled into hundreds of dolphins on the shore and then he sought out a giant Fin Whale. We saw way more than we had anticipated and it was well worth the trip to Kaikoura.

What a fantastic experience. We had accidentally arrived at the chopper not at the office. We got our safety briefing from the pilot, at the chopper and everything went on as usual. The flight was indescribably more than 13 different whales seen. The weather was fantastic and the pilot was great. It was worth the price. Highly recommended!

Die Basis von Kaikoura Helicopters war einfach zu finden. Nach kurzer unkompliziertem Check in sind wir dann auf das Abflugfeld wo wir vom Piloten in Empfang genommen wurden. Nach Einführung ging es dann auch schon ab auf den Flug. Schon nach ca 10 Minuten hatten wir einen Wal an der Oberfläche. Was für ein Anblick. Das rund 19 Meter lange Tier liess sich an der Oberfläche treiben und wir konnten von beiden Seiten des Helicopters den Wal beobachten. Es war einmalig und unvergesslich. Danach ging es weiter und wir konnten eine grosse Gruppe von Delphinen beobachten. Das waren sicher hundert Tiere, die sich im Meer tummelten. Danach ging es zum Rückflug. Sanfte Landung und Check out. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen. Danke für das tolle Erlebnis.
