View an outback sunrise at Kata Tjuta and a walk with your Guide to the Valley of the Winds. Hear fascinating stories of the geology, history and culture of Kata Tjuta. This incredible formation of rock domes extends six kilometres into the ground and is the remains of erosion that began more than 500 million years ago. The 5.4 kms walk to Valley of the Winds takes you down into a timeless haven within the domes through creek beds.

We loved this trip. The stop to see the sunrise was fantastic. The Valley of the Winds hike was great - difficult enough to be interesting, but still very do-able. Did the complete loop in 2.5 hrs. The views were amazing and the scenery along the trail was great and very different from Uluru.

Disappointed. Expensive. Read the fine print.. you DO NOT a walk the Valley of the winds. You half walk it then turn around and follow back to the car park! Cheeky! Guide explained he was not a local man so no local stories, extent of knowledge was look at the green trees, red rock and blue sky. To enjoy Kata Tjuṯa either hire a car.. it’s cheaper or use the hop on hop off bus.

This AAT Kings tour was average based on value for money. The light breakfast was really just muesli bars & apples, tea & coffee. We were offered a cup to put a few corn flakes in if you had a free hand. It was very rushed as bus was running late for pick up, so we had to quickly grab what we could carry before racing up the path to the public lookout. The “experienced” guide had only been in the area 2 months & had only done 3 previous tours so she was unable to answer a lot of questions. While Tata Tjuta was a stunning destination and place to visit & trek you could have done it on your own.
