This trek begins with an iconic flight into Lukla Airport at 2,860 m. Straight away, you will trek for 3 to 4 hours to reach Phakding. And although that looks like an easy day on paper, this is the Himalayas, and each day has its own challenge! You will trek for approximately 5 hours daily, some days longer at 7 to 8 hours. With alpine forests, villages, fast-flowing glacier rivers, and mountains, each day brings something new to see and marvel at. Some of the trek's highlights included the famous Namche Bazaar—the starting point for numerous expeditions to climb Everest; visiting Tengboche Monastery, the largest one in the region; climbing the Everest viewpoint at Kalapatthar; and, of course, reaching Everest Base Camp itself. The route from Gorakshep to Base Camp and back takes 6 to 7 hours of serious walking over rocky ground formed by glacier debris. All while under the protection of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and more mountains.

We were a group of 4 and booked a luxury EBC trek with Magical Nepal in March 2023. Our guide was KP ( Krishna Prasad Bhatta). It was an amazing experience and Pradeep (owner) left no stone unturned to make this experience even more awesome. The hotel in Kathmandu was excellent and helicopter flights were fantastic. We were provided transport to and from the airport and on our last day Pradeep arranged a dinner for us in an upmarket restaurant. He even arranged phone SIM cards for us during the stay and helped with money exchange. KP looked after us very well during the trek and made sure we had the best accommodation as well as anything else we needed. He is hard working, knowledgeable and very helpful. I would highly recommend this company owned and run by local people to anyone looking to do the EBC trek.

EBC trek with Magical Nepal.....amazing trip with friends, stunning scenery, fabulous views from helicopters. Magical Nepal staff were very supportive, had several chats with Pradeep (owner) to plan. Krishna Prasad was the guide who received us with traditional garlands and stayed with us throughout. KP is soft spoken and has taken extra care with food, water and even arranging extra blankets in tea houses. As I was struggling a bit, KP kept a constant eye on me to support and made sure I was OK. Pradeep and KP tried their best to get us the best accommodation possible. When we returned back to Kathmandu, Magical Nepal organised a dinner which was a nice gesture and Pradeep came to say good bye when we were heading back to airport. The porters Milan and Asir(apologise if I got the name wrong) were fantastic, always smiley faces and very helpful. I am very grateful to Pradeep for advising and organising. KP was a fantastic guide, soft spoken, smiley face, always trying to go beyond to help. Hats off to our porters for carrying what we couldn't carry. I started the journey with two acquainces and a stranger and came back with three good friends.
