A half day kayak rental will allow you to explore the calm, clear waters between Stock Island and Key West on your own from the comfort of your single or double kayak (book per person not per kayak) Glide over sea grass and through mangrove tunnels as you look for fish, birds, sharks, rays and maybe even a manatee. Great for paddlers of all experience levels though all guests must know how to swim.

We took out a tandem kayak and a got a map to help us navigate to the cool spots. The mangrove tunnels were awesome! Our big highlight was seeing a pair of nurse sharks swim right by us on the surface! We got a nice video :) We saw about a dozen others but they were down on the bottom (like usual) so the pics are just meh. We also saw cool jellies, a ray, and lots of fish :)

The folks at Lazy Dog were very friendly and helpful to us less experienced kayakers. We were all about going at our own pace, so chose to do the self guided tour. They provide us with a laminated map of the area with suggestions on where to go according to current conditions(tide and water flow). You did not have to go far to get to the mangrove tunnels which were a great experience and the areas outside of them were beautiful as well. You may also run into an occasional dolphin and other sea life, which is an awesome bonus. Great way to spend a few hours! I highly recommend Lazy Dog Adventures!!
