An explosion occurred during the project test completely destroyed the reactor at about 1:24 am, April 26, 1986. The leakage of radiation from an explosion equates to an explosion of 500 atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. And the distribution of reactive material was so large-scale that radioactive rain fell throughout Europe, and even in Ireland. According to various sources, from 600 to 800 thousand people took part in the aftermath from all over the USSR. 60 minutes

Chernobyl-tour.ua is a very friendly, honest and fair tour of the exclusion area surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear plant accident. My friends and I were able to see the plant, as well as the ruins of Pripyat and Chernobyl City. Seeing it all through pictures, videos and TV doesn’t do justice to seeing it up close, and our tour guide Sasha was very knowledgeable and professional at all times. Definitely recommend to all I know!

Really enjoyed this tour, after researching the events both historical and present before our trip we soon realised our guide and driver (Zhenya and Andrew respectively) were both very knowledgeable and attentive to the areas we had mentioned we would like to visit. The tour was personalised for us and we got to see all that we wanted, from the Factories to the power plants, villages to the towns, and even places that we had not seen anywhere on any photographs from the internet, well away from the usual tourist trails. A real thrilling experience, the imagery remains etched even now.... one of the best trips I have ever taken.... well worth the visit with these guys.

A recommended tour! Very interesting in the things one may expect (ghost city, the plant), and even more in those you dont expect : a visit to a cold-war radar, the details you will never learn in TV. And above all it was a great tour thanx to kate, a superprofessional and superempathic guide. Recommended.
