    You will be picked up at your hotel in Kingston. We will meet you in the lobby and provide a five minute summary of the tour, answer any questions and board the transport. Immediately upon leaving the hotel your tour guide will start providing information and history of the area and its landmarks. The first destination is a drive around downtown Kingston, where you will see historical architecture, market places, old train stations, seat of government, Courts, Main Street, major business areas, Memorials of National Heroes and major churches... and that's for starters. After downtown, which should take approximately an hour and a half, we head uptown along a route that will introduce you to our military base, libraries, play theaters, National Stadium, wealthy residences (Beverly Hills) and make a short rest stop (if desired). We then continue to the Hope Gardens, the Chinese Garden and a drive by of the Bob Marley Museum (not inside). Two hours later, everyone should be hungry so we top off the trip by visiting the grounds and garden of the colonial Estate of Devon House. Devon House is known for its premium ice cream with large serving portions and specialty bakery that is loaded with Jamaican meat pies (patties) and delectable sweets. Finally, you will get dropped off at your hotel and escorted into the lobby where the hotel will be informed that you have arrived back "Safe and Sound".

Having arrived (hour delayed) at Kingston airport, it was reassuring to see our guide and driver (John) waiting for us patiently out front the arrivals door. Upon getting in the car (luxury van), John quickly started explaining to us the ins and out of Kingston, immediately taking us to (his words) the “ghettos” of Kingston which was both eye opening and fascinating. Rest assured John had his window down and seemed to know everyone, making sure we felt safe and could get out of the car to look around. After that it was a tour of downtown and uptown Kingston, with John making an effort to answer all our questions about everything we happened to see out the window, while taking us through an incredible drive through the markets, seemingly avoiding the masses of people absolutely everywhere. Put simply, John was absolutely first class and as a former tour guide back in my uni days, I have to give him five stars for knowledge and effort, especially with two sometimes tired travellers. It’s not easy making conversation for 4 hrs! Highly recommend if you want get a feel of the real Kingston!

My husband and I had a few hours to kill and we asked our hotel to refer us to a tour, they reccommended Fiwi tours and I must say I was not disappointed!!!! The owner of the company is Jackson, he comes with his personal driver and gives you a tour of Kingston with a great history lesson. We saw everything from Emancipation park, the national heros park and ended up at devon house to have some lovely home made ice cream. You can get different tours with Jackson, he is a smart laid back guy that loves what he does. One of my best afternoons spent in Kingston.

Jackson’s tour was very good. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of Jamaica and Kingston and shares his passion and enthusiasm for the place. The tour included quite a few stops, lots of explanations and gave a really good overview of Kingston. My only criticism would be not to have included any lunch break (in a 4.5h tour) nor visit to the Bob Marley Museum which both were mentioned in the original description of the tour. But other than that I would definitely recommend it.
