Amber Museum has one of Europe's largest collection of inclusions. There is the largest protected Ginara block - Solar Stone - weighing 3.5kg ~. Expert claim it to be worth approximately 1.5 million litas.

    En fin liten og trafikkstille by egnet for vandring både i store parklignende furuskoger og på den flotte og rene stranden. Meget bra og flatt gruset underlag. Det kjente Amber Museum ligger i en slik park/skog med tilgang fra flere kanter i og ved Palanga, verdt et besøk, pris 8 Euro i høysesong. Sentrum har en flott delvis bilfri gågate med en rekke restauranter og iskiosker. Om du er interessert i shopping, er det heller få tilbud i denne byen. Solnedgangen fra den berømte piren må bare oppleves, tiltrekker masse folk. Kan kombineres med et besøk på en av flere strandbarer. Litt dyrere her enn inne i byen, forståelig nok.
