We were all locked down inside our society complex for a complete year in 2020. As a Family we all wanted to come out and take a break but not risk the COVID factor. We planned for a road trip to Allepey Back waters. We chose Iris Holidays because of the great experiences we had with their service in the past. They came up to speed and arranged for a awesome stay, food and over-night experience in a House Boat on Allepey Back Waters. We are thankful to the hospitality shown during our stay, thanks.

Le départ peut sembler rebutant, vu le nombre de bateaux qui partent tous en même temps. Mais les Backwaters étant si étendus qu'on se retrouve rapidement seul dans les canaux. Sur les berges on observe la vie quotidienne des riverains de la rivière, lessive, vaisselle, toilette. Les paysages sont somptueux et variés. Nous n'étions que 3 à bord, que notre famille, avec un équipage aux petits soins. Achats de gambas sur la rive et celles-ci cuisinées le soir pour nous. Bateau confortable, les chambres sont agréables. Dîner, nuit et petit déj à bord, succulents. Farniente et rêverie. Assurément un de nos plus beaux souvenirs au Kerala.

Experience was much better than we expected mainly as the houseboat docked overnight at the company's base so that the houseboat had mains electricity (not a noisy generator) and had wifi. All the meals were superb, too much to eat. Recommend to take a houseboat with an upper viewing deck
