The Kicking Horse River is located away from Banff national park, just outside of Yoho national park. (We drove there from Banff and it was pretty easy to find.)
We had a BBQ lunch and then following the safety instructions got in the boat to go white water rafting. It was fantastic; our guide was really knowledgeable and we went past some beatiful scenery on the way. Neither my wife or I had ever been white water rafting before and we really enjoyed it. I'd recommend, it was one of the most fun things we did in the Rockies.

We had the most amazing experience rafting. The company is well organized, and transparent with respect to all the information. We were provided with a nice BBQ lunch before we headed out. Post lunch we had a session of safety information doled out. They provide us with the entire gear required to keep us warm in the cold river. Our raft guide Kayley was fun and knowledgeable. She made the entire experience a memorable one.
We initially opted for the easy one but along the way we changed our minds and wanted to go the whole way. They were kind enough to cater to it.
A couple of suggestions would be providing gloves so that we don't scrape our hands while handling the paddles or the ropes. Our tickets had the wrong timing (9:30 as against 12:30) which was a cause for confusion.
Apart from that it was a worthwhile experience!! Definitely recommend!!
