  • Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau, Oswiecim, Poland
    During the tour you will have a chance to visit the permanent exhibition and original buildings on the grounds of the Main Camp(Auschwitz) and visit the most important original objects at Birkenau. The whole tour lasts about 5-6 hours. You will spend around 2 hours in the first part of the camp and around 1,5 hour in the second part. You are allowed to take photos within the Musuem. After your arrival back in Katowice you will be dropped off at your pick up point.

Whilst the tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau was excellent and memorable, albeit it sobering and moving, this review is restricted to the tour company that facilitates logistics from Katowice. Hotel pickup was punctual, and the driver was friendly, and drove the 40 minute trip responsibly. At Auschwitz, he provided the personalised tickets and very clear instructions on how to proceed with entrance (avoiding queues), security and registration. He was then waiting at the agreed meeting point after the 4 hour tour, to return us to our respective hotels. This well organised group takes care of all the logistics of getting to and from Auschwitz from Katowice, whilst the price includes the cost of the 2-part tour.

Warning! This is a very unscrupulous company. Cancelled our trip at 8:40 pm and we were supposed to leave at 9am the next day. The reason was that according to them it would be windy, I think they were missing a guide.

Pick up and drop off from Katowice, take a good hour drive. Ticket cut line then visit Auschwitz 1 with English guide. Then after 10 min shuttle tour of Birkenau - The tour is very well organized but too fast - A great moment of history - one regret the stupid attitude of some who take everything and anything in photo
