My wife and I took a trip to Auschwitz and the Salt Mine with Artur last week. He picked us up at our hotel and we headed out the 1.5hr drive to Auschwitz. This gave me some time to have a good chat with Artur. He’s a lovely guy! I really enjoyed talking to him. He is obviously very knowledgeable about Poland’s heritage and also very passionate too. It made the drive feel shorter. On arrival at Auschwitz, he looked after us all and made sure we knew where we were going and what we were doing. Same goes for the short drive round to Birkenau.
He then took us to the Salt Mine. On arrival, he pointed us to a restaurant, where we had something to eat. It was very cheap and my wife loved her Pizza! We then walked around the corner across the street to the Salt Mine with Artur’s assistance. The Mine was very impressive! My wife didn’t like the lift back to ground level though. 7 people crammed into a lift that would suit 4 people at most, if I’m honest but, you’re only in it for 20 seconds. I thought it was funny myself! Not for those of us who are claustrophobic! Once back on ground level, we walked round and met Artur in his minibus and he drove us back to our hotel. All in all, we enjoyed our day out and Artur’s company. His driving was impeccable! Would we recommend Artur for a tour? Of course we would. A lovely guy and a pleasure to have met him! ????
