    Visiting German death camps at Auschwitz has become a symbol of World War II atrocities. Created by the Nazis in occupied Poland in 1940 near the town of Oswiecim. Immediately after the war ended camps were transformed into the museum, that was in 1947. Since then visitors can see the conditions in which people lived and literally feel the enormity of atrocities perpetrated upon them. The current museum occupies an area of two extant parts of the former Nazi concentration camp – Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau.   • Wieliczka Salt Mine, Wieliczka, Poland
    Wieliczka Salt Mine is located just 12 km (7,5 miles) from the city center of Kraków and is certainly one of the most offen visited places in Poland. This is the oldest salt mine in the world, which is operating with no interruption since the Middle Ages . Here you can find lots of underground caves, chambers and even a lakes. The total length of the mine is about 300km (186 miles) on 9 level, of which deepest reaches 327m (357 yards). You can see here how through the centuries people have perfected the art of mining.

We were messaged day before of arrangements for trip, asking if we needed a packed lunch provided. On day we were picked up promptly at 6am from hotel by very polite driver Bartek. We then had two further stops. Bartek made sure we were looked after at memorial. And met promptly after. Memorial guide was very good, explaining in detail all aspects of both sites we visited. Would 100% recommend this trip provider. Many thanks for a smooth and well organised day. And big shout out fir Bartek.

I went on this tour with my mom and son, and it was one of those days that really stays with you. Everything was smooth and well-organized from the start. Our driver, Bartek, was fantastic—friendly, professional, and full of helpful information throughout the day. He even brought us our lunch, which was great! The highlight of the day, though, was our time at Auschwitz-Birkenau with our guide, Ania. She was absolutely incredible. You could feel her passion the moment she started speaking. She wasn’t just giving us facts—she was telling stories, sharing lesser-known history, and connecting everything in a way that made it so real and human. What made it even more special was getting to talk to her on the side. We had a few personal conversations throughout the visit, and it was clear that this work is deeply meaningful to her. She shared how important it is for her to pass on these stories and why she feels so connected to the people who were there. You could tell she truly cares—not just about history, but about the people hearing it. That energy came through in every part of the tour. Other guides we passed sounded flat or just rehearsed, but Ania made you want to listen and learn. She really went above and beyond. After that, we visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine, which was a totally different but very cool experience. The carvings, sculptures, and underground chambers were incredible to see. It’s a bit of a walk, but 100% worth it. I’d love to come back again just to explore more of the park and area around the mine. It was a long day, but a truly amazing one. Both Ania and Bartek made this tour something special. If you’re thinking of booking this experience—do it. You’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation for history, and the people who dedicate their lives to sharing it.

Was definitely an eye opener experience. Definitely recommend having a guide. I found building #11 the most heartbreaking part of the tour. Definitely wear comfortable walking shoes the outside is walking in uneven surfaces.
