Immediately after the war ended camps were transformed into the museum, that was in 1947. Since then visitors can see the conditions in which people lived and literally feel the enormity of atrocities perpetrated upon them. The current museum occupies an area of two extant parts of the former Nazi concentration camp – Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau.   • Wieliczka Salt Mine, Wieliczka, Poland
    Wieliczka Salt Mine is located just 12 km (7,5 miles) from the city center of Kraków and is certainly one of the most offen visited places in Poland. This is the oldest salt mine in the world, which is operating with no interruption since the Middle Ages . Here you can find lots of underground caves, chambers and even a lakes. The total length of the mine is about 300km (186 miles) on 9 level, of which deepest reaches 327m (357 yards). You can see here how through the centuries people have perfected the art of mining.

Early start with our lovely driver Bartek, his communication before the trip was great and he offered to arrange a pack lunch for us for £10. Small baguette water apple juice apple banana croissant and chocolate. It’s a busy and long day, wear comfortable shoes as there is approx 5km of walking. A very moving experience at auschwitz - Birkenau. Guide spoke good English and had lots of harrowing stories of surviving in camp. The salt mines are amazing, beautiful carvings out of salt rock... our guide was very informative and friendly. A must see experience. We did about 15.5k steps!

Robert was a great driver. He had a lot of information to share and got us home safely. We visited Auschwitz and the Salt Mine. All in one day. Awesome

Our driver was efficient but not the most caring. You will need to download and check What’s app in case the driver contacts you for anything. This contact may be despite the fact that you receive other messages through Viator. We had some missed communication as a result. Our guide inside appeared to be in training so was assisted by another guide. The information we received on the tour was very basic. We have had much better guides in the past.
